The Roma-Lido railway is a local railway connecting Ostia with Rome, Italy.
The railway crosses the XIII municipio and, especially during the summer, tourists use it to travel to Rome's beach (Ostia Lido) and the archaeological area of Ostia Antica.
The Rome-Lido railway line is run by ATAC, the company responsible for public transportation in Rome.
ATAC also operates the Rome Metro, therefore the line is operated as an integrated part of the metro system. This integration allows direct transfers to line B at the northernmost three stations of the line.
The line runs completely overground, in contrast to the completely underground Line A and the partially underground Line B.
Roma-Lido railway has an integrated ticketing with the Rome Metro and it also has essentially the same rolling stock: a mix of MA300 trains (S/300 series built by CAF, also used on line A) and refurbished MA100 trains built by AnsaldoBreda, formerly used on line A. Both MA100 and MA300 trains are named Freccia del Mare (Sea Arrow). Older trains are also used.
